Capitoni

Marco Capitoni, his wife Antonella and their son Angelo cultivate the ancient lands of Renaissance times in the Val d’Orcia valley. From wheat to vines this family sticks to the traditional methods of farming. Capitoni wines originate from vines cultivated according to knowledge of both ancient and new methods of farming with an emphasis on understanding what the plants are trying to express. They are the fruit of difficult and often disadvantageous growing procedures because there is never the use of chemicals nor do they remove excess bunches. These are choices Marco and Angelo make with pride in their work and the conviction that their products are good and healthy, and will therefore satisfy those searching for real and genuine quality.

Centanni

Giacomo Centanni and his entire family have carried on the tradition his grandparents, Primo and Dalia Centanni, started many, many years ago. They started with a single bunch of grapes which in turn became their legacy. Today the Centanni family represent a new generation while still utilizing all the traditional methods used to create great wines which always start in the vineyards. They produce native Marche wines such as Pecorino di Offida and Marche Rosso. The family ensures that their vineyards and wines closely follow the expert winemaking tradition that has evolved over the decades.

Corteaura

Corteaura Franciacorta was established in 2009 by Federico Fossati. Frederico left his successful accounting firm to fulfill an oenological dream: to produce a top quality wine in a territory with a natural vocation for grape growing. After meticulous research across all wine producing areas of Italy, he recognized the Franciacorta region as the one that, above all others, would ensure his wines would have a rich and varied range of undertones. Of the various opportunities available in the region, he opted for Adro and its centuries-old tradition. He undertook scrupulous restoration work on an old rural building transforming it into a winery, while maintaining full respect for the local territory and surrounding vineyards. Federico believes that quality is the key to creating a product that lasts in time. Despite not coming from a wine-producing family he was driven by passion and decided to place his bets in the Corteaura project investing in it all his resources. Time has proved him right.

Le Senate

The Le Senate winery is situated on the coastal hillside overlooking the Adriatic Sea. Once in the ancient past, this territory was known as the Ager Palmensis. In the first century AD, Pliny the Elder praised the area for its vineyards and their wines. The quality was acknowledged all over the Roman Empire. Still today, the quality of the vines of Le Senate are superior. Their rows of vines are laid out on a plateau looking onto the Adriatic, caressed by its breezes. The silt and sand based soil contains a layer of calcium carbonate concretions that create a uniquely favorable ripening environment for the grapes.

Lumavite

Lumavite is located in the small village of Rapagnano. They produce excellent wines dedicated to the ancient methods of wine making from the historic region of Marche. The owner, Giancarlo Testa, was raised in a world filled with wine as both his grandparents were winemakers and wine merchants. Giancarlo’s philosophy is to respect the land, harvest by hand, select only the best grapes, use wild yeast and farm using only organic practices.

Madrevite

Dedicated to agriculture and wine production for three generations, Madrevite is one of the first families to farm organically on the green hills of Umbria. The vineyards are located in a unique position on the borderline between Umbria and Tuscany halfway between the Chiusi Lake and the Trasimeno Lake. Over time, Madrevite has combined the production of quality organic wines, focusing on territorial varieties, along with the production of olive oil and legumes.

Madonna Nera

The history of Madonna Nera began in 2006 when the Borgogni family purchased a farm and lands in the famous wine region of Montalcino. Daughter, Bernadetta, had a dream to make an award winning Brunello on these lands. Her dreams were made into reality upon the partnership of world renowned oenologist, Carlo Ferrini. Together, Carlo and Bernadetta, have won numerous awards for their Brunello di Montalcino and Rosso di Montalcino.

Podere Albiano

Living in one of the most beautiful places on earth, owners and winemakers, Anna and Alberto have developed a special bond with the land of Val d’Orcia. They hold a deep debt of gratitude and respect for it. They have grown to understand that they can only honor this debt by favoring the land’s gifts of nature. Their role is to help the ground to grow and ripen its fruits. These fruits will then be able to thrive and turn into the product which will tell its story through taste, aroma and bouquet, thus releasing the same power and joy which enthralled Anna and Alberto when they first arrived here.

Poggio Grande

Father-Daughter team, Luca and Giulitta, have taken all possible care in the choice of every detail from the best land for their vineyards to the most modern equipment to reach a production of the highest quality wines. Success started with the red wine “Piano” I.G.T., followed by their white wine “Tagete” and then “Sesterzo” ORCIA D.O.C.. For more than a century the Zamperini family has lived in the countryside surrounding the Castle of Ripa d’Orcia. During all these years the family members have dedicated themselves to the farm with love and passion, retaining the old farming traditions in the breeding and cultivation and care of the vineyards, olive trees and woods surrounding the farm.

Scopeto del Cavalli

Scopeto del Cavalli is a family-run smallholding perched on the western slopes of Montalcino. Both the wild flowers and the olive trees have been purposely left in the vineyard–applying permacultural and biodynamic practices–to enhance biodiversity and encourage the symbiosis of olives and vines. Scopeto del Cavalli was one of the first farms to obtain organic certification in Montalcino. The vines are grown along the stone walled terraces below the town. The surface of the vineyard is less than a hectare, so great care is provided to both growing the grapes and selecting the finest for winemaking.

Valente

After receiving her PH.D in Food Science and Technology, the young entrepreneur, Francesca Valente realized she longed for the days spent with her grandfather in the vineyards and in the cellar. Her grandfather dedicated his life to saving the almost extinct Montonico grape which dates back as far as 1615. After his death, Francesca realized it was her calling to carry on her family tradition to rediscover and protect the ancient vines on her family land and so she decided to give life to what is today the largest vineyard of Montonico in the world.
